NXT No Mercy 2024 (REVIEW)

NXT Tag Team Championship match: Chase U (c) vs Nathan Fraser and Axiom

The show kicked off with a great tag team match between Fraxiom (as what twitter calls em) and the team of Andre Chase and Ridge Holland representing Chase U. The highlight was seeing Andre Chase of all people hitting a spanish fly off the top rope. That was completely out of the blue. Despite my prediction of Chase U retaining, Axiom and Fraser took the win and regained their NXT Tag team titles. After the match, Ridge Holland attacked his Chase U stable mates and put Andre Chase through the table, sending him to a local medical fecility.

Nathan Fraser and Axiom win to become the NEW NXT Tag Team Champions

I still think the Fraser and Axiom should split and become singles stars. It was teased for weeks and it would've been nice to see Holland continue his redemption arc and maybe even get a shot at the NXT title with Chase U by his side. But now he drops out of Chase University and all paths are probably leading to Andre Chase vs Ridge Holland at the Next NXT PLE.

TNA X Division Champion Zachary Wentz vs Wes Lee

Zachary Wentz won the TNA X Division title few days prior to No Mercy at TNA Emergence. He came out to the ring with a TNA championship in a WWE PLE. The match was a personal one. Surprisingly, Zachary Wentz took the win and stood tall against Wes Lee.

I'm shocked that a TNA wrestler was able to beat a WWE wrestler on a WWE PLE, but maybe this rivalry is not over yet.

NXT Women's North American Championship: Kelani Jordan (c) vs Wendy Choo

Like I said, this gimmick for Wendy Choo is very goofy, way more goofy than her last gimmick. Who's going to get scared of someone who sleeps a lot but this time with face paint and demonic eyes. Thats all I can say when it comes to this rivalry.

NXT North American Championship match: Oba Femi (c) vs Tony D'Angelo

Obi Femi, as always, looked incredibly dominant and that looked from the get go. However, Tony D looked like the biggest threat to Oba Femi's title reign. I even kinda wanted Tony D to win. Multiple times, I thought Tony D was about to pick up the win but as always Oba Femi out powers him and after 3 power bombs, Oba Femi picked up the win to retain.

NXT Women's Championship Match: Roxanne Perez (c) vs Jaida Parker

Jaida Parker was a bit controlling in the match. Quite a few close calls. But her momentum ended once she went through the barricade. After that it was all over. A pop rox onto the barricade. and once in the ring, another pop rox and Roxanne Perez takes the win.

After the match the lights go out, music hits and unfamiliarity is on the stage. Someone comes out and it is Guilia who is finally making her debut on NXT. She goes up to Roxanne Perez and it looks like its going to be Roxanne Perez vs Gulia for the NXT Women's championship.

NXT Championship Match: "All Ego" Ethan Page (c) vs Joe Hendry - Trick Williams as special guest referee

It's time for the main event. A TNA wrestler challenges for the NXT title in the main event of an NXT PLE. What a time we live in. Trick Williams makes his entrance followed by Joe Hendry. Everyone showed that they all believed in Joe Hendry. After he made his last turn of the entrance, we turn to gorrilla position where the NXT champion and he cuts a promo before his music hits and he makes his entrance. The match was a bit slow but it was carried by the trios charisma. Trick eventually gets hit and goes out of the ring and another referee comes in for the pin but it is a kick out. Eventually Ethan Page puts Hendry for the pin but it is broken up by Trick Williams who shows the new ref that he is the ref and as the other ref is leaving the ring, Page low blows hendry and goes for the pin in which Trick counts 1, 2, 3.

Ethan Page beats Joe Hendry to retain the NXT Championship

Throughout the week I thought that with the addition of Trick, Joe Hendry might actually beat Ethan Page to become NXT Champion, but then I remembered that we haven't gotten Page defending against Trick yet after realizing that I knew Hendry would not win. Hopefully this isnt the last we see of him on NXT or WWE as a whole.
