LAST SMACKDOWN BEFORE BASH IN BERLIN

LA KNIGHT U.S CHAMPIONSHIP OPEN CHALLENGE - ACCEPTED BY GERMANY'S VERY OWN, LUDWIG KAISER

This was a pretty good match. When this open challenge was announced last week for this Smackdown in Berlin, Germany, I was fully expecting Ilja Dragunov to be the one to accept because when Gunther won the World Heavyweight title, I thought Ilja Dragunov would be the won to challenge him for the title at Bash in Berlin, since he is half German and the matches between those two are all time classics. However, Randy Orton is facing Gunther and Ilja's not on the PLE card, but alas he wasn't at all in any of the Berlin televised shows. Kaiser put up a good fight but it was obvious Knight wouldn't lose the U.S. title this early.

L.A. Knight defeats Ludwig Kaiser to retain the U.S. Championship.

Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin vs Los Garza

Legado del Fantasma is getting tiring. I don't think ANYTHING can save this group from the trenches of obscurity. Nothing will make Angel and Berto look like viable challengers for the Tag team titles and Santos Escobar has no momentum to be even the speed champion. The alliance between Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews seems alright? but I think Corbin should've stayed in NXT since he was really good there. The match ended with Los Garza picking up the win after an interference by the rest of legado del Fantasma.

Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens promo before their WWE championship match at Bash in Berlin

During Cody's entrance, he didn't the do the knee thing he always does before the "WOAHHHH" and this was pointed out by Kevin who claims that Cody's knee was injured. Kevin was stating this match wasn't a good idea continuing his hesitancy on accepting the match. He goes on about his only World Title win in WWE, when he won the Universal Championship and claims his title reign was tainted by "you only won because of triple h" and doesn't want the same thing to happen "when" he wins the title. Cody notices the "when" and disagrees and states his knee is 100%. The promo ends after Cody asks K.O if they will still be friends after this match and K.O. drops the mic and whispers in Cody's ear.

It's obvious Owens won't win this match but it will be interesting to see if we see him turn heel. My prediction for Bash in Berlin is Cody retains.

Carmelo Hayes vs Andrade IV; Andrade leads 2-1

This rivalry between Hayes and Andrade has surprisingly been good. I'm interested to seeing how this will end. Is this going to be a best of 7 series like Cesaro vs Sheamus? If so, will it end with them becoming a tag team? It worked for Cesaro and Sheamus I don't see why it wouldn't for Hayes and Andrade.

Carmelo Hayes defeats Andrade to tie up the series at 2-2.

WWE Women's Championship Match - Street Fight- Nia Jax (c) vs Mia Yim

After Michin's street fight against Jaida Parker on NXT, it's just fitting that she would be facing Nia in a street fight for the WWE women's championship just 2 days before Jaida Parker challenges Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women's Championship at NXT No Mercy. However, like most championship matches nowadays, it's obvious Michin won't win this since Nia Jax won the title only earlier this month. During the match, while both competitors were down, Tiffany Stratton blitz through the ring looking like she would cash in her money in the bank contract until she locked eyes with Nia Jax who was yelling asking "WHAT ARE YOU DOING???" and Tiffany assured her that she was here to help her and she hits Michin with the briefcase and as she was going for the PME, Bayley made her return and chased off Stratton, while Nia Jax finished off Michin to retain.

Nia Jax defeats Mia Yim to retain the WWE Women's Championship.
