 LET'S TALK NXT NO MERCY 2024

So I decided that instead of reviewing last nights episode of NXT, I might be better off just talking about No mercy since this was the go home show for the PLE. So let's just take a quick look at No Mercy 2024 and I'll just give my thoughts and predictions.

NXT WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH - ROXANNE PEREZ (c) vs JAIDA PARKER

Lately, Jaida Parker has been on fire since that street fight with Michin and last week she won the gauntlet to get this title match, and she deserves a lot of credit for getting here. I can see her being NXT Women's champion, but the problem is Roxanne Perez has been VERY dominant every since winning back the title earlier this year. The most likely I'd say that her title reign was looking like it would end, was probably NXT battleground against Jordyn Grace. I think it's unlikely that Jaida Parker would beat Perez for the title if even Jordyn Grace couldn't do it. HOWEVER, I don't see anyone else on the current NXT women's roster being a viable challenger for Perez's title other than Jaida Parker, so this could go two ways. One, due to Perez beating everyone already, Jaida Parker wins and then NXT can progress with a lot more rivalries for the NXT women's Championship. Or Two, Perez retains and they are likely holding it out so she can face Cora Jade and C.M. Punk will be special guest commentator. I feel the second option is wayyyyyy more likely.

My prediction: Roxanne Perez retains the NXT Women's Championship

NXT WOMEN'S NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH - KELANI JORDAN (c) vs WENDY CHOO

Wendy Choo's old gimmick was goofy enough, but this scary one is even more goofy. It wouldn't make sense for her to beat the first ever NXT Women's North American Champion. It wouldn't make sense for her to beat the first ever mid card women's champion ever. I do not see Wendy Choo winning and I don't think it would be wise for her to win at all. Especially since there are wayyyyyy better contenders to dethrone Jordan

My prediction: Kelani Jordan retains the NXT Women's North American Championship

NXT NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH - OBA FEMI (c) vs TONY D'ANGELO

Tony D'Angelo has been a main stake in NXT ever since it left the black and gold era. From the old NXT vs New NXT war games match, he is the only one from the new NXT team, to still remain in NXT. He is also the last one to have gotten a NXT title match. I think it would be GREAT disservice if he leaves NXT without being NXT world champion at some point, let alone the North American Championship. Unfortunately, I don't see if him beating Oba Femi. I don't see ANYONE beating Oba Femi any time soon.

My prediction: Oba Femi retains the NXT North American Championship

NXT TAG TEAM CHMAPIONSHIP MATCH - CHASE U (c) vs NATHAN FRASER AND AXIOM

Chase U has been one of my favorite things of NXT since the rebranding. Just a few months ago, after the whole rivalry with Jacy Jayne ended, I wasn't so sure how Chase U would be booked but then Ridge Holland came into the mix and it has been a nice partnership ever since. The addition of Ridge Holland has benefitted both him and Chase U and it made sense that he needed a sense of direction after being a "reckless" worker. It was nice to see Andre Chase and Holland win the tag team titles as the last reign for Chase U was very short. Everyone thought this tag team between Fraser and Axiom would end at their match vs MSK but that didn't happen and I don't personally see it happening. I don't see either being a good heel and both Fraser and Axiom are best suited as babyfaces, but I feel they are both best off as singles competitors. 

My prediction: Chase U retains the NXT tag team Championships

WES LEE VS ZACHARY WENTZ

After MSK vs Fraser and Axiom happened, which I thought MSK was going win, I knew a heel turn would happen due to the show still running. BUT I had no clue that it would be Wes Lee turning. Wes Lee, ever since the breakup of MSK, has been the way more successful of the pair and he has been one of NXT's top baby faces. So to see him turn was crazy but it was perfect as he shouted at Wentz, "You left me alone" noting how MSK broke up so suddenly due to allegations on Wentz name and thus Wes Lee getting lost in the shuffle in kayfabe and having to make such a big comeback from it. I feel like NXT could've made more emphasis on this point in their promo from the NXT go home show for No mercy but the promo was still great. Zachary Wentz painted Wes Lee as very ungrateful while Wes Lee was repeatidly saying that he was levels above Wentz and that Wentz returned in order to get some of the WWE Spotlight. This match is going to be a personal one but it's very hard to predict. On one hand, Wentz is the massive baby face in this but on the other hand, none of the TNA wrestlers that have appeared have really won a lot of the time apart from maybe Joe Hendry and Wes Lee returned a month or two ago so he needs some wins. I do think this rivalry should go on longer for how personal it is, but for now

My prediction: Wes Lee beats Zachary Wentz

MAIN EVENT: NXT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH - "ALL EGO" ETHAN PAGE (c) VS JOE HENDRY - TRICK WILLIAMS AS SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE

I thought Ethan Page winning the NXT championship was a brilliant decision as his debut was impactful but so far his title reign has not been special. His first defense came against Oro Mensa, and although I like Oro Mensah and Meta Four, he just wasn't ready for a big NXT championship match, AND that match was in the MID CARD of NXT Great American Bash. Joe Hendry is one of the most over people in the wrestling world right now and it was very disapointing to see him lose at Slammiversary and fail to win the TNA title after HE PINNED MOOSE. However, after him being on NXT a lot lately, putting the NXT title on him doesn't seem like a bad idea, and it would make more sense since Trick Williams is the special guest referee. One problem, Trick Williams. With the way that NXT heatwave ended, it would make sense that Ethan Page would defend against Trick in order to prove that his title win wasn't a fluke, annnnnnnndddd that match has not happened which makes me believe that Page is retaining. So unfortunately as much as I want Joe Hendry to win

My prediction: Ethan Page retains NXT Championship and defends against Trick Williams down the line.

  WWE SmackDown 8/23/24 Review Welcome to the first of my WWE weekly show reviews. Here I will go over the results of each show and give my thoughts on them in addition to what I think will happen later in each story line. Recap of previous show: So if you don't already watch these shows, then you should know that there is usually a small recap of a storyline. WWE BASH IN BERLIN 2024 REVIEW

  WWE BASH IN BERLIN 2024 (REVIEW) Undisputed WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs Kevin Owens The show kicked off with a bang as Cody defended the WWE championship against Kevin Owens. Going into the match, Cody had a knee injury (which I'm not sure is kayfabe injury or real) and Kevin tried to get the match called off but Cody ensured him he was fine. The knee injury got to Cody as he was going for a top rope Cody cutter but his knee gave out and K.O was hesitant to continue with the match. Cody again ensured him that he was fine and it continued. K.O was looking for an Apron Powerbomb which he used quite frequently to injure wrestlers when he was a heel, but he didn't pull the trigger. All throughout the match, Owens was very hesitant to target Cody's knee and eventually his hesitation would cost him as Cody won the match.
